The corporate headquarters of the Wendy’s fast food chain confirmed Aug. 5 that it is leaving its offices at 1155 Perimeter Center West in Sandy Springs for Dublin, Ohio after the city offered millions in incentives to lure the company there. Bob Bertini, a spokesman for the company, said via e-mail the company plans to maintain a “significant” presence in Sandy Springs.
The company, which recently sold its ownership in the Sandy Springs-based Arby’s franchise, said the state of Ohio offered the company $4 million in incentives and the city of Dublin offered $8 million. Bertini said Arby’s would remain headquartered in Sandy Springs in the same building as the soon-to-be-former Wendy’s location.
“This support was a major factor in Wendy’s decision to pursue the project, and completion of the project is contingent upon finalization of the incentives over the next couple months,” the company said in a press release. Wendy’s plans to add more than 50 new positions in Dublin over the next two years. The workforce at the Dublin facility will be approximately 440 people, plus 65 employees who work for the Quality Supply Chain Cooperative, the company said in the press release.
