Brookhaven advocates announce fundraiser

Advocacy group BrookhavenYES has announced it will host a barbecue to promote incorporating the Brookhaven community into a city.

The event is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 15 in Blackburn Park.

The Georgia General Assembly recently approved a bill that will allow voters within the boundaries of the proposed north DeKalb city to vote in a July referendum on whether or not they want Brookhaven to become a city. The bill is awaiting the governor’s signature.
