Sandy Springs police report that a man accused of robbing an 88-year-old woman in a drug store parking lot in January has returned to Georgia.
Saul Locke Jr., is accused of assaulting and robbing the woman at the CVS Pharmacy located at 6300 Powers Ferry Road on Jan. 7. Locke earlier this month was arrested in Elizabethville, Penn., charged with writing fraudulent checks. The judge there ordered him back to Georgia, where he turned himself in to the Cobb County Sheriff’s Department on July 9. He faces similar robbery charges in Cobb County, police said.
According to police, the woman was getting into her vehicle at the Sandy Springs CVS when Locke allegedly approached her from behind and snatched her purse from her. The victim struggled, and the suspect allegedly pushed her into the car before taking off. The victim chased after the suspect, but fell. Police said she was not seriously injured.
Police said after his initial hearing in Cobb County, Locke will be transferred to Sandy Springs’ custody.
