Zone 2 receives special Buckhead Buck
Sam Massell, president of the Buckhead Coalition, and Atlanta Police Chief George Turner on July 18 stand in front of “B.A. Buck”, a statue dedicated to the Atlanta Police Department.
They call him B.A. Buck. He’s a statue of a deer dressed like a police officer and he’s currently patrolling Charlie Loudermilk Park.
The organizers of Bucks on the Street dedicated the statue in honor of the service of Atlanta Police officers in Zone 2.
The statues are being sponsored and auctioned to raise money for Livable Buckhead. Georgia Commerce Bank and Three sponsored B.A. Buck.
“Buckhead is a stronger community than ever in 2012 and we are proud to serve this community,” Atlanta Police Chief George Turner said in a press release. “We appreciate the Bucks on the Street project, Georgia Commerce Bank and Three for providing this unique opportunity to support Livable Buckhead’s efforts.”
Bucks on the Street is a community-spirit building effort in addition to a fundraiser. The auction party for the bucks will be held this fall.
