The University of Georgia chapter of the Zeta Beta Tau (ZBT) national fraternity dedicated its chapter room to Sam Massell, former mayor of Atlanta and current president of the Buckhead Coalition, according to a news release from the coalition.
Massell, who graduated from UGA in 1948, heads up the Buckhead Coalition, a nonprofit civic association which works to “nurture the quality of life and help coordinate an orderly growth” in Buckhead.
Massell served as the mayor of Atlanta from 1970 to 1974, and has been awarded multiple honors from ZBT in the past, including a “National Achievement Citation” in 1965 and the “Living Legend Award” in 2005.
