Buckhead: Complaint alleges Pace teacher ordered porn using school’s Internet

A Pace Academy teacher accused of purchasing child pornography allegedly bought some of the illicit DVDs while on the job.

The teacher, who no longer works at the school, allegedly made 11 unique purchases, ordering 32 DVDs. The orders totaled more than $750 according to a copy of the criminal complaint obtained by the Buckhead Reporter. The alleged purchases occurred between 2008 and 2011, and the complaint alleges the teacher placed orders both at home and at the school.

On Oct. 29, investigators executed a search warrant at the teacher’s home. Investigators allege the teacher possessed the DVDs and images of child pornography on a computer.

According to the complaint, none of the DVDs were shipped to the school. None of the videos or allegations involves Pace Academy students.

The U.S. Postal Inspection Service conducted the investigation.

The DVDs contained naked pictures and video of boys aged 8 to 14 years old.

The teacher allegedly purchased the DVDs from an unnamed Canadian company which is also facing charges. According to the complaint, the teacher allegedly confessed to purchasing the DVDs.

Caitlin Goodrich, spokeswoman for the school, said the teacher’s school-issued computer is in federal custody and the school is cooperating with the investigation.
