Law enforcement officials recovered a stolen vehicle in DeKalb County after a police chase that began in Dunwoody around 11 a.m. Nov. 7.

“We located a stolen vehicle in Dunwoody and our officer followed it and got onto (I)-285 and kept going down to Memorial Drive,” said Dunwoody Police Sgt. Mike Carlson.

Carlson said a Dunwoody officer spotted a suspicious vehicle on the road and scanned the tag, which was listed as stolen.

The officer followed the car onto the highway and called DeKalb County Police as he drove away from the city of Dunwoody.

“They ended up backing us up on it and a chase ensued,” Carlson said.

The chase ended when the car drove into a ditch.

“The suspect ended up jumping out the moving car,” Carlson said. “He fled on foot but they caught him.”
