From police reports dated Dec. 28 through Jan. 10

The following information was provided to the Buckhead Reporter by the Zone 2 precinct of the Atlanta

Police Department from its records and is presumed to be accurate.

Robbery

2300 block of Marietta Road—A man entered a restaurant and said to “put the money in the bag” and “you know what to do,” while holding his left hand inside his jacket like he had a gun. The cashier gave the man $800 from the cash register and he ran off. The cashier chased him into the parking lot with an ax handle, which he threw at the robber, and then continued to chase him through a cut in the fence that leads to a pathway adjacent to Adams Drive. The robber was able to open the pedestrian gate, using an access code, and was last seen running towards the “J” building. The cashier lost sight of him in the rear of the building when he was unable to open the pedestrian gate. A witness said she didn’t realize the suspect was robbing the location until he told her to “get back in there.” An employee reported seeing several men soliciting for money inside the restaurant earlier in the day. He believes one of the men is the suspected robber.

300 block of Buckhead Avenue—On Dec. 30, two men circled a woman and snatched her handbag that had a 9mm handgun inside. The woman’s cell phone and shoes were recovered nearby, after the men ran and jumped a fence near Paces Ferry Road.

1700 block of Howell Mill Road—On Jan. 1, a woman was forced into a car and robbed at gunpoint of her purse and cell phone. She was later forced out of the car at an unknown intersection.

2300 block of Parkland Drive—On Jan. 1, a man with a pistol approached a woman getting out of her car. He yelled, “you need to start the car,” at her and a bullet was fired from his gun. He told the woman not to look at him or he would kill her. When she got out of the car, the man punched her in the face. She then gave him her phone and another set of keys. The man drove away in her 1999 Honda Accord.

1700 block of Commerce Drive—On Jan. 4, a woman pulled over to investigate a loud noise coming from under her car and saw a white car drive by slowly. As she got out of her car, a man approached her with a hand gun and demanded she “get back in her vehicle” and “give him everything.” Another man opened her passenger door and took her purse, which contained a driver’s license, credit cards and two iPhones. The men ran back to their car and drove away.

2100 block of Defoors Ferry Road—On Jan. 9, a man waited for the owner to unlock the front door and followed him into the business displaying a semi-automatic pistol. The owner was forced behind the counter and into a small office, where the other man took approximately $1,000 in currency from a file cabinet, $150 in currency from a cash register, and took lottery tickets, cigars and cigarettes. The man ran off toward the Cross Creek Apartments.

3200 block of Peachtree Road—On Jan. 10, a man waiting to cross the street saw another man standing on the sidewalk next to him. While waiting, two men approached him from behind, and then the man standing next to him grabbed him, forced him to the ground, put a handgun to his head and demanded his property.

2700 block of Lenox Road—A carjacking was reported outside a restaurant, after a woman was pushed to the ground as she tried to get into her car. She dropped her keys and two men took her 2007 Toyota Camry, her purse with $20, an iPhone and credit cards. A witness heard the woman scream and picked her up.

Aggravated Assault

2000 block of Bolton Road—On Jan. 3, the drivers of two cars that were racing started talking at a red light. One driver pulled a handgun and fired a round that struck the passenger side door handle. The driver of the shot car pulled over at a gas station and called 911.

3100 block of Peachtree Road—On Dec. 31, a police officer heard gunshots and saw two men with their hands up. As the officer approached, a car made a complete circle and the driver pulled out a gun, said “you think I won’t” and fired into the air. A .45-caliber Smith & Wesson handgun and a beef jerky bag that contained less than an ounce of Marijuana, 18 Xanax pills and a small baggie of cocaine were recovered.

500 block of West Paces Ferry Road—Three drivers reported their passenger windows were shattered by an unknown person firing a weapon. Upon further inspection, police recovered a plastic bag of pellets, a metallic dish with pellets and a stock air rifle in the shrubbery area.

3200 block of Lenox Road—Police responded to a naked person in the hallway call. Upon arrival, a witness said someone was bleeding from the head. When the unit approached, the suspect stated, “I don’t want to go to jail,” and took off running. The suspect continued fleeing while yelling “I can’t go to the cops; they’re going to kill me.” Medical officials arrived and transported the suspect to Grady for treatment of lacerations to the top of his head, lip, a bloody nose and back and neck pain.

700 block of Lindbergh Drive—On Jan. 5, a man was walking back from the store when he heard someone yell at him. When he turned around, he saw three men, one armed with a handgun. The three men ran off when he yelled back at them. They never demanded property.

2100 block of Piedmont Road—On Jan. 9, someone used a key kept under the door mat to enter an apartment. A fight broke out when the person who used the key to enter, refused to leave and pulled out a Taser. The residents were able to push the suspect out the door and held it shut while they phoned 911. The suspect returned to the location the next day, but was unable to access the door.

Residential Burglary

500 block of West Paces Ferry Road—Two windows in the pool room were damaged and the cameras in the front driveway were pushed down, but nothing was taken. A heel from a shoe was recovered and submitted as evidence.

1100 block of Collier Road—Officers found damage to the side window and front door left open at a residence. A 42-inch TV, an iPhone 3, an Apple iPod, a Sony Blue-ray player, a AT&T wireless router, a .22-caliber nickel plated North American Arms revolver, a Casio Trax camera and a set of vehicle and house keys were taken.

3800 block of Lake Forrest Drive—A woman reported that she heard noise coming from the basement and ran out the front door. Upon fleeing, she noticed a man walking in the basement area. When police units arrived, they discovered a man inside the shower. He said he thought he was entering a friend’s residence, and he was arrested.

2400 block of Parkland Drive—A rear door lock was damaged and an Apple computer with keyboard was taken.

1800 block of Cheshire Bridge Road—Surveillance footage shows a man looking into a hotel room at 7:13 p.m. and returning with a key at 7:16 p.m. A black Coach bag, an electronic dictionary and a Lenova computer were taken. While on scene, the groundskeeper entered the office with some of the victim’s belongings. The footage shows him nearby while the suspect was looking into the room and as he entered the room. He is in possession of a master key to the rooms.

1100 block of Milmar Drive—On Jan. 10, the front door of a house was kicked in and a 42-inch Samsung TV and a desktop computer were taken.

900 block of Beaverbrook Drive—An outside storage unit lock was cut and a mountain bike was taken.

400 block of Lofton Road—On Jan. 8, a basement door lock was broken and items were taken.

3400 block of Kingsboro Road—On Jan. 6, an Apple iPad, a portable speaker, a tube of loose change, a laptop, a fire safe that contained a passport and personal documents and a container of daily medication were taken.

2500 block of Piedmont Road—A front door frame was damaged while the resident was out of town. A Mac desktop computer and $2,000 in Euros were taken.

1300 block of Monroe Drive—An Apple MacBook laptop, two HTC cell phones and a Samsung Note tablet were reported stolen. Three flat screens TVs were damaged and blue paint was poured on four pairs of shoes.

Commercial Burglary:

800 block of Chattahoochee Avenue—A lock on a storage unit was damaged and replaced by employees. A Sony A77 camera and lens were taken. A second storage unit lock was partially damaged and the interior had been rummaged through and a Nikon Cool Pix S210 camera and camera lenses were taken. A third unit had damage to its top gate and a camera lens and jewelry were taken.

1800 block of Marietta Boulevard—A front window was broken with a rock and the back door was unhinged and open. Two TV monitors were removed from the wall.

1100 block of Foster Street—An audible alarm dispatched police, but a locked gate prevented officers from entering to check the premises. The locking mechanism to the rear glass doors was manipulated. The windows to 13 interior classrooms were broken and entered. The control panel on the Konica Minolta copier was damaged. Several computer wires and computer mousse were scattered along a path. Sixteen Apple desktop computers were taken.

2000 block of Peachtree Road—A rear door lock was pried open and two Dell laptops and a Google Nexus tablets were taken. A front door was pried open and several interior door locks were damaged. Twenty Target gift cards were taken from a desk. A third business was entered and a Surface Pro laptop and petty cash were taken.

400 block of Plasters Avenue—An office door was kicked in and the gate, back door and front door were left open. No items were taken.

3200 block of Paces Ferry Place—On Jan. 9, police responded to an audible alarm call and discovered the owner on scene. Someone broke and unlocked a side window pane on the right of the business. Two Botegga bags, three Louis Vuitton bags, two Gucci bags, a Valetino bag, a Mui Mui bag, a Carolina Herrera and a Dolce & Gabanna bag were taken.

500 block of Bishop Street—Police responded to an audible alarm call and discovered a side glass window broken. Two 27-inch Apple monitors were taken.

100 block of Peachtree Park—A rear door to a building was left open, and an interior supply closet door and lock were damaged and pried open. No items were taken from the medicine supply.

2000 block of Peachtree Road—An envelope that contained $256.01 in petty cash and $14.33 in postage was taken.

500 block of Old Ivy Road—A lock was cut and the hinge broken off an exterior shed. A Stihl edger, chainsaw and a hedge trimmer were taken.

2500 block of Piedmont Road—A side window was broken and surveillance footage shows someone entering the location on Dec. 23 and taking approximately $11,000 in clothing.

1800 block of Piedmont Avenue—A side window was broken and a rock was found lying on the ground behind a frame. An Apple desktop computer was taken.

Thefts/Larcenies:

Between Dec. 28 and Jan. 3, a total of 39 thefts from automobiles were reported and an additional 32 reports were made of other larcenies, including shoplifting. Nine reports of auto theft were made.

Between Jan. 4 and Jan. 10, a total of 52 thefts from automobiles were reported and an additional 43 reports were made of other larcenies, including shoplifting. Ten reports of auto theft were made.
