Two children had to be taken to the hospital June 30 after an apartment fire in Sandy Springs, officials say.

Sandy Springs Fire Department crews responded to a fire at the Morgan’s Landing apartment complex in the 7800 block of Roswell Road. Building #200 was fully engulfed when crews arrived, Dan Coffer, a spokesman for the city, said. A total of 12 units were destroyed.

Two children jumped to safety because of the fast moving fire, and taken to Children’s Hospital with minor injuries, Coffer said. One adult was treated for breathing issues on scene and released.

No firefighters were injured. The cause of fire is under investigation. Those who were left homeless are being assisted by the Red Cross. No word yet on the total number displaced at this time.
