Cars and other vehicles can once again travel through the intersection of Mount Vernon and Spalding Drive in Sandy Springs, but lane closures will continue for the next few weeks, city officials said.

A detour went into place in April as crews began work to re-align the intersection and add traffic signals, all a part of an operational and safety improvement project, the city said in a press release.

Motorists are asked to use caution around construction crews that are working on the road shoulder. Final striping will take place in the coming weeks, the release said.
