Three local parks advocates were among seven honored with Park Pride’s annual Inspiration Awards on March 21.

The locals honored included: Linda Bain, for over 15 years of work as founding board member of the Sandy Springs Conservancy, where she served as executive director from 2008 through 2015; Cynthia Gentry of Play Atlanta, a playground advocacy group that assisted with the new Chastain Park playground in Buckhead; and Buckhead resident Esther Stokes, who has served as a board member and leader at many organizations, including Park Pride, the Piedmont Park Conservancy and the Georgia Advisory Board of the Trust for Public Land.

The awards were presented during Park Pride’s annual Parks & Greenspace Conference at the Atlanta Botantical Garden.
