A strip mall  including a restaurant and convenience store/food market as well as other retail stores is planned for Buford Highway.

Silver Properties Inc. is seeking rezoning of 1.4 acres of land at 3779, 3787 and 3795 Buford Highway to construct an approximate 13,500 square-feet one-story retail strip center. Plans filed with the city of Brookhaven show the strip center would include a 4,000 square-feet sit-down restaurant and 4,000 square-foot market or store that would sell alcohol.

The strip mall would have parking located in front and include some landscaping including the planting of native trees.

Currently located on the three parcels are an abandoned McDonald’s restaurant and 4 Brothers auto sales and auto repair shop. Plans are to tear down these buildings to construct the new shopping center made from glass, metal, brick and stucco.

Further south of the property is the Mexican restaurant, La Casa, while north of the parcels is a Shell gas station. Across the street and west of the property are apartment complexes and other commercial strip centers. Further west is the Drew Valley neighborhood and Briarwood Park.

The rezoning request is set to go before the Planning Commission on July 7.
