The city of Sandy Springs last week certified the results of the May 24 special election for the open District 3 City Council seat. There was no change in the numbers unofficially reported on Election Night, where Chris Burnett and Joe Houseman were the top vote-getters, according to city spokesperson Sharon Kraun.

Those vote numbers are:

Chris Burnett: 774 votes

Joe Houseman: 524 votes

Brian Eufinger: 253 votes

Larry Young: 189 votes

Suzi Voyles: 167 votes

Total votes: 1,907

The turnout was 12 percent based on county-provided voter rolls, but the city calculates it as 16 percent when duplicate entries and other errors are not counted, Kraun said.

Burnett and Houseman are now in a runoff election slated for June 12, with advance voting starting June 11. For more information, see the city’s voting page here.
