Law firms to merge, keep Buckhead office

International law firm Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, PC, which has its local offices at Five Concourse Parkway in Sandy Springs, is merging with the Atlanta law firm of Gambrell & Stolz LLP, which has offices in Buckhead and Macon.

The combined firm will maintain the name of Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, PC.

The 36 Gambrell & Stolz attorneys are joining Baker Donelson’s 14 attorneys in Atlanta, bringing the combined firm’s total number of attorneys in Georgia to 50. Firm wide, the total number of attorneys and public policy advisors now exceeds 500.

Current plans call for the combined firm to maintain Gambrell’s existing offices in Buckhead and Macon, with Baker Donelson’s Atlanta attorneys and staff relocating from their current offices by the end of 2007.

Gambrell & Stolz was established in 1963 by David Gambrell, whose father founded the original Atlanta Legal Aid Society.

Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, PC is one of the 100 largest law firms in the country. Through strategic acquisitions and mergers over the past century, the firm has grown to include more than 500 attorneys, and public policy and international advisors.

Snelling Staffing opens Sandy Springs office

Snelling Staffing Services opened a new office at 6600 Peachtree-Dunwoody Road in Sandy Springs in July.

The office, located at suite 108 in Embassy Row 400, will assist employers who are looking for administrative/clerical assistance, accounting and finance professionals, customer service representatives, IT and engineering professionals and human resources candidates.

Kelly Dwyer, part owner of the new office, feels Sandy Springs is the perfect location for this new venture. “We intend to grow our office rapidly to provide quality customer service. There will be several specialty recruiters on-site, as well as a network of seasoned recruiters from our sister offices to assist with complex recruiting orders. We will offer temporary, temp-to-hire and career placement options,” said Dwyer, partner and general manager of the new office.

Dwyer has been with Snelling Staffing Services for three years, and her business partner has been in the staffing industry for more than 30 years. During her tenure, Dwyer has been honored at the company’s annual convention with both recruiting and business development awards.

The office will be open from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Good Measure Meals adds Sandy Springs pick-up spot

Good Measure Meals has added a pick up location at Gold’s Gym, 6335 Roswell Road in Sandy Springs for its freshly prepared gourmet meals.
