Consultant hired for Morgan Falls bridge
The Sandy Springs Conservancy has contracted with environmental consulting firm Jordan Jones & Goudling to prepare an environmental assessment of the proposed bridge for bicycles and pedestrians over the Chattahoochee River at Morgan Falls.
The conservancy is handling the environmental assessment as a benefit for the National Park Service, which would design, build, own and maintain the bridge as part of the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area.
The assessment will help determine where the bridge and trails should go. The consulting firm will evaluate soil, water, air quality, animals and vegetation; study cultural and historical issues; and conduct two public meetings.
The first of those meetings was scheduled for April 30, after the Reporter went to press. Visit www.reporternewspapers.net for a report.
