Three candidates in the July 20 primary election seek the Republican Party nomination for the state Senate seat representing District 56, which includes a portion of Sandy Springs. The Republican nominee should be able to claim the seat in November, as no Democrat is on the ballot.

Reason for Running: Jobs, Jobs, Jobs. It is the private sector that should create jobs not government. But what government can do is create an environment that is conducive to job growth. Government should deliver an adequate clean water supply, excellent education, a transportation system that reduces congestion and increases mobility and a tax system that brings us into the 21st Century on corporate and property tax reform. To accomplish this it will take conservative courageous leadership.

Reason for running: The driving force of our campaign is to advance a conservative system, not because we’re conservative, but because it works. The conservative system is built on the old principles: limited government, less spending, local control, lower taxes, accountability and transparency. This system has produced more freedom, more opportunity, more jobs and more prosperity than any other system on the face of the earth.
