The following information was provided to the Buckhead Reporter by the Zone 2 precinct of the Atlanta Police Department from its records and is presumed to be accurate.

Aggravated assault

2600 block of Buford Highway N.E.

Officers saw a man assault a woman about 3 p.m. Sept. 17. He was arrested. Officers found marijuana on his person and added a drug charge.

1100 block of Collier Road N.E.

Two people got into an argument on Sept. 16 and began fighting, leaving noticeable scratches and other injuries on one another. Both were arrested, but one was released to watch over a child.

2700 Defoors Ferry Road N.E.

A man argued with the girlfriend over another man that both knew. The other man had been “attempting to court” her. About 11:20 a.m. on Sept. 14, the first man flew into a rage and began to hit the woman. The suspect fled before police arrived.

Robbery

3300 block of Peachtree Road N.E.

A man told police he was getting into his parked car about 9:30 p.m. Sept. 18 when another man grabbed and held him as a third man removed items from the car.

2400 block of Coronet Way N.E.

A woman arrived home and took her child from her SUV when a man walked up to her, placed a knife to her side and asked for the keys to the vehicle. The man then drove off in the red Ford Explorer, tag BIZ 9175.

1700 block of Howell Mill Road N.W.

An armored truck pulled up to an ATM about 7 a.m on Sept. 14. As an employee from the truck approached the ATM, a man walked up to him, pointed a large caliber semi-automatic pistol at him, took his weapon, and told him to lie on the ground. The employee did so. The suspect took a money bag containing $216,000 and fled. A second suspect fled in the same direction. A second employee who had remained in the truck called 911. Police found the keyhole on the lock of the ATM station had been filled with glue.

Burglary

100 block of Blackland Road

A home was burglarized and a $2,000 Viking cooking unit was taken. Police reported finding pry marks on the rear door and evidence that the cooking unit was dragged through the kitchen to the garage.

3600 block of Habersham Road

On Sept. 16, a man tried to remove furnishings from the home. Police were called and a suspect  was arrested.

700 block of Sidney Marcus Boulevard N.E.

A man returned to his apartment about 1 p.m. Sept. 14 to discover his surround sound speakers and several items of clothing had been taken some time after Sept 3. It appeared someone had entered the apartment through a side window.

2900 Peachtree Road N.E.

A dress, cash and a laptop computer were taken from a bridal shop.

3300 block of Piedmont Road N.E.

A flat panel TV, $3,700 and beauty products were stolen from a business.

100 block of Lakeview Avenue N.E.

Several television sets, computers and a .357 revolver were stolen from a home between 8 p.m. Sept. 16 and 11 p.m. Sept. 17. The back door to the house had been pried open.

2600 block of Bolton Road

Rolls of coins were taken from a grocery store between 9 p.m. Sept. 11 and 8 a.m. Sept.12. A suspect apparently climbed through a ventilator on the roof and broke some ceiling tiles. The suspect then disconnected the security cameras.

1100 block of Collier Road N.E.

Someone kicked in the back door of an apartment between 2 p.m. Sept. 15 and 9:24 a.m. Sept. 16 and stole a checkbook.

Thefts from vehicles

3400 block of Alexander Circle, N.E.

Several thefts were reported from cars parked in a parking garage. On Sept. 14, police found four wheels were missing from a 2008 Cadillac while the owner was out of town. Police also were told two bikes were stolen between 1:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. on Sept. 14. And a wpman said someone cut through the top of her vehicle while it was parked in a parking  gararge Sept. 13 and 14 and removed the seats, the gearshift knob along with lights, antenna, medallions from the wheels and trunk, a radar detector and the garage door opener.

3500 block of Peachtree Road N.E.

Several electronic items, including a laptop computer, were taken from a parked vehicle between 10:40 p.m. Sept. 17 and 1:10 a.m. Sept. 18. Electronic items, including a laptop computer, were taken from another vehicle

3200 block of Peachtree Road N.E.

A GPS unit was stolen from a vehicle between 8 a.m and 3 p.m. Sept. 16. The driver’s side door of the vehicle was damaged.  On Sept. 16, between 7:25 and 8:30 p.m., someone broke the window of a blue 2009 BMW, but the owner said nothing was taken from the car.

3800 block of Roswell Road N.E.

A laptop computer was stolen from a 1999 Mercedes that was parked at the location from about 8 p.m. until about 8:45 p.m. The passenger’s side window was broken.

4500 Roswell Road N.E.

A laptop and several other items were taken from a car parked at the location from about 8 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. on Sept. 17. A window was broken.

900 block of Canterbury Road N.E.

A satellite radio was taken from the center console of a 2006 Lexus. The radio was taken between 7:15 p.m. Sept. 14 and 9:30 a.m. Sept. 15. The front driver’s side window was shattered.

800 block of Paces Ferry Road N.E.

Windows were broken on three vehicles parked at this location on Sept. 16. A crowbar was taken from one of the vehicles, but nothing was reported taken from the other two. The break-ins were reported about 10:12 p.m. on Sept. 16.

3200 block of Lenox Road N.E.

Three vehicle owners reported their cars were broken into at this address during the morning of Sept. 15. Several electronic items were stolen from one of the vehicles. An in-dash stereo system was reported taken from another. The owner of the third vehicle fund the rear passenger window in his green 2003 Ford Explorer was smashed and his Gateway laptop was taken.

3400 block of Lenox Road N.E.

Someone pried open the door of a vehicle parked at this address overnight from Sept. 16 to Sept. 17 and stole several items.

700 block of Sidney Marcus Blvd. N.E.

A woman parked her car about 1 a.m. on Sept. 16. When she returned about 10 a.m., her car had been broken into, the steering column broken, and items were stolen.

Vehicle thefts

I-75 southbound at Moores Mill Road

A woman reported her silver Chevrolet Malibu was parked on the highway Sept. 14 and left for about 24 hours. When the woman returned, the car was gone.

3400 block of Alexander Road N.E.

A blue 1994 Acura was reported stolen from a parking garage during the night of Sept. 13 to Sept. 14.

4030 Peachtree Dunwoody Road N.E.

A car was reported stolen from the owner’s driveway. It was taken between noon Sept. 12 and 7:15 a.m. Sept. 13.

3300 block of Piedmont Road N.E.

A silver Chevy Tahoe, Georgia tag AFL 438, was taken between 6 and 8 p.m. on Sept. 18.

2700 block of Pine Tree Road N.E.

A green and purple Kawasaki motorcycle was stolen on Sept. 13. The lock securing the motorcycle had been cut. The tag on the motorcycle was Yc927z.

On Sept. 19, a man reported his had parked his 1998 Dodge Caravan outside the parking lot gates and had left his wallet in the van. He discovered the van was missing and his bank called to say someone was using his Visa card to buy Marta tickets.

3000 block of Peachtree Road N.E.

A man said he parked his silver BMW 650, tag number AHT 8926, at this location for about six hours on Sept. 15. When the man returned, the car was nowhere to be found.

Other thefts

2400 block of Peachtree Road N.E.

The manager of an office building said a man was caught on camera on Aug. 28 stealing a projector and walking out the door. Security guards were told to burn a CD copy.

2500 block of Piedmont Road N.E.

A shoplifter was arrested at a Target department store on Sept. 17.

3300 block of Peachtree Road N.E.

A customer stormed out of a nail salon without paying on Sept. 11 after being informed the salon did not take checks.

3300 block of Peachtree Road N.E.

Shoplifters were arrested about 2:45 p.m. Sept. 16 at a TJ Maxx department store.

3300 block of Peachtree Road N.E.

Suspects were arrested for going into a Macy’s department store and a Bloomindales department store on Sept. 12, taking several items and concealing them and then leaving the stores without paying for the items. On Sept. 18, a person was arrested after a Bloomingdales employee reported seeing the person take two pairs of socks, place them in his front pockets and leave without paying. The man was taken to jail. That same day, a suspect was arrested after being observed trying to remove security tags from several items of clothing and then trying to hide the clothing in a shopping bag.

3500 block of Peachtree Road N.E.

A shoplifter was arrested about 5:20 p.m. Sept. 13 at a Belk department store.

700 block of Sidney Marcus Boulevard

A person was arrested for refusing to pay his cab fare about 1:38 a.m. Sept. 15. He also was charged with giving police a false name, a false date of birth and false address. Police noted he appeared intoxicated.

300 block of Pharr Road N.E.

A woman took a taxi to this location on Sept. 16, got out and told the driver she would return with the fare. She never came back.
