Brookhaven’s St. Martin’s Episcopal School capped several months of outreach and education with the local veteran community by holding a Veterans Day memorial.

The student band played the four service songs and students at the school honored an array of local veterans as part of the assembly.

1st Sgt Edwin Starks was the keynote speaker. He told the students at the school the importance of protecting the country.

“It’s like winning the Super Bowl for your favorite team,” he told a group of hundreds of students and guests. “How can you not honor a person who commits every day of their service to protect you?”
