Lawyer John G. “Sonny” Morris recently began a two-year term as the chairman of the Buckhead Coalition, the north Atlanta community’s chamber-type civic organization.

The selection of Morris, a senior partner with Morris, Manning & Martin LLP, as chair of the coalition was announced at the organization’s annual meeting.

Founding president of the 22-year-old coalition, former Atlanta Mayor Sam Massell, was re-elected to that position for two years.

Other officers elected included secretary M. Maxine Hicks with the law firm of DLA Piper, treasurer Charlie Crawford and executive committee members Addie Mathes, Scott Selig and Jeff Sprecher. Re-elected were Rayne Casey and Tim Lowe as vice presidents and Brad Bradshaw, Bill Harrison and David King to the executive committee.
