Atlanta Police Department Zone 2 Commander Maj. Robert Browning and Lt. Stacie Gibbs, commander of the special victims unit

A man is breaking into Buckhead apartments, stealing items from the apartments and exposing himself to women while using “sexual language,” Atlanta Zone 2 police officials said on Nov. 1.

Zone 2 Commander Maj. Robert Browning and Lt. Stacie Gibbs, commander of the special victims unit, held a press conference to get the word out about the incidents. Gibbs said the suspect is possibly the same man who broke in to three apartments earlier this year. A more recent incident occurred in the last four days, Browning and Gibbs said.

“Obviously, we noticed a pattern, so we want to get it out to the community,” Browning said.

The victims are women who were alone at the time of the incidents, Gibbs said. The apartments being targeted are generally located near Buford and Lenox roads, Piedmont Road and Lindbergh Drive and Peachtree and Peachtree Park.

The suspect is described as 5’8” tall with a medium build. It is believed he is in his mid-to-late 30s, Gibbs said. The incidents all happened between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m., she said.

No one was injured in these incidents.

Items stolen included laptop computers and cash, Gibbs said.

Police officials also believe the suspect may be linked to another incident in 2009.
