The Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta has named a new executive director.
The organization’s board named Gail Luxenberg, formerly executive director of the Jewish Vocational Service in Chicago, as the center’s executive director and chief executive officer.
She begins her new job Dec. 1, the MJCCA said in a press release. She replaces Howard Hyman, who has been interim CEO for 15 months.
“We believe that Gail is the leader who will take our center to an even higher level of performance we all want for our community,” center governance board Chairman David Levy said. “We look forward to welcoming her.”
Luxenberg holds a bachelor of arts in Middle Eastern studies and an MBA in marketing and organizational behavior, both from the University of Chicago, the MJCCA said.
