The following information was provided by the Zone 2 precinct of the Atlanta Police Department from its records and is presumed to be accurate.
100 block of North Colonial Homes Circle, NW – An aggravated assault was reported on Nov. 8. An officer responded to a dispute between a male and female. Officer was met outside of the apartment unit by both parties. The woman said she lived with the man, and that they have been together for approximately seven years.
She said they both had been drinking and he became upset with her and demanded that she and her 16-year-old daughter move out. He then began taking her television and other personal items down and placing them on the living room floor. At some point during the argument, he tossed a glass vase in her direction which missed her head and broke as it hit the wall and floor, causing water to splash on her head from it being so near.
He said he was drinking initially, but went to sleep. He was then awakened by the woman as she wanted to “party.” He became upset and said he had a temper tantrum and began yelling for her to leave his home that he paid the rent for. He then tossed a glass vase — not at her, but at the floor. He also cut his right index finger on the vase in what he said was an attempt to clean it up before police arrival.
He was cited for disorderly conduct, acting violently toward another party, and transported to city pre-trial detention. He also stated that he didn’t want medical attention for his cut finger and that it had stopped bleeding.
3000 block of Roxboro Road, NE – An aggravated assault at a residence was reported on Nov. 10. The victim said that the arrested person, her boyfriend, got into a physical confrontation with her and began hitting her with a fire poker about the head and face. The suspect was caught by APD and placed under arrest.
10th block of Peachtree Avenue, NE – A rape was reported on the evening of Nov. 8. The victim said that the suspect grabbed her from behind and dragged her to a nearby vehicle were he sexually assaulted her.
3500 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A pedestrian robbery was reported on Nov. 12. The victim said he was robbed at gunpoint by three men who then left in a black Jeep.
400 block of Lindbergh Place, NE – A residential burglary was reported on the evening of Nov. 7. The victim woke up to banging on her back door. When she saw a shadow out her window, she left through the front door and called police. Four young men were seen by witnesses running from the back of the apartment to the MARTA station. MARTA police have video of four males going into the Lindbergh station. The victim’s card was used at Lenox Mall.
1400 block of Mecaslin Street, NW – A commercial burglary was reported on Nov. 7. The victim said someone entered the location through the skylight on the roof, went through the desks in the office, removed a camera and stole $119 left in a note pad holder on the desk. The suspect may have exited through the roof. No alarm or surveillance.
2200 block of Howell Mill Road, NW – A burglary from a residential property was reported on Nov. 9. A real estate agent for the property said that someone entered the location by using a crowbar to open the window and remove a stove.
1900 block of Peachtree Park Drive, NE – A residential burglary at an apartment was reported on Nov. 12. The suspect threatened to kill the victim if she did not do as he said. He ordered her to turn around and show him her butt, at which time she ran out of the house, and when she looked back the suspect was going out the back door.
3200 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from a restaurant was reported on Nov. 6. The victim said that a group of men came to the location, took her phone and then gave it back. The victim also noticed $4 in change was missing from the tip jar.
4300 block of Powers Ferry Road, NW – A larceny at a school was reported on Nov. 7. The suspect came onto school property while suspended and took several books from the book fair without paying. The books were returned to the school and the suspect detained, but no charges were filed.
1300 block of Northside Drive, NW – A larceny from a hotel was reported on Nov. 7. Hotel staff said the subject notified them he broke the television inside his room and he was taking it to be repaired. The subject did not return or return the TV.
80th block of Mobile Avenue, NE – A larceny from a residence was reported on Nov. 7. The victim said someone removed four checks from her mailbox and cashed them. She further stated there has been more fraudulent activity using her personal information.
3200 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from a specialty store was reported on Nov. 8. Loss prevention said they witnessed the subject enter the location, select two shirts, conceal the items and exit the store without paying. Upon being approached, the subject refused to return the merchandise. The subject was given a trespassing warning to not return to the property. The items were recovered and the subject taken to jail without further incident.
1200 block of Howell Mill Road, NW – A larceny from a specialty store was reported on Nov. 8. A sales associate at the store reported that she discovered several items missing. She suspected that the items had been taken by a subject known to her. She said that this subject was inside the store and took several items into a fitting room. She was not certain of all of the items that were taken into the fitting room, however, the sales associate said that after the subject exited the fitting room, she and another associate went in and found price tags totaling $632 hidden inside of items that the subject decided not to purchase. She said she asked the subject about the tags and the subject denied taking anything. The sales associate said the subject left the building before police arrived. No one saw the
subject with the items prior to her leaving.
3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny was reported on Nov. 9. The victim said he had a deal with a subject to purchase a car. He gave the subject a deposit and the subject was supposed to find the vehicle. The subject called the victim to request the remainder of the monies owed. The victim advised he gave the subject’s friend the money to give him. He was later phoned and told the friend never showed with the remainder of the monies due.
3200 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from a coffee shop was reported on Nov. 12. While having coffee at the location the victim placed her bag on the floor near her seat. The possible suspect made eye contact with the victim. She placed her wallet in her purse after a purchase at the counter. Upon returning to her seat, the wallet was gone and the suspect was also gone.
3100 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from a restaurant was reported on Nov. 12. A purse was left on a chair in a restaurant. The owners returned 15 minutes later and the purse and a cellphone were gone. A man named Larry answered the phone when they called it.
1900 block of Peachtree Road, NW – A larceny from a hospital was reported on Nov. 12. A nursing manager said a laptop was missing from an unsecured cabinet, housed in an area accessed by a code on the door.
Larceny from Auto
1000 block of Huff Road, NW – A larceny from an auto was reported on Nov. 6. The victim returned to his vehicle to find the driver door pried open. A watch was taken from the console and electronics taken from the trunk.
3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from an auto was reported on Nov. 8. The victim said she took her vehicle to a body shop for repairs. When she picked up the vehicle, her tag was missing.
2200 block of Peachtree Road, NW – A larceny from an auto in a parking garage was reported on Nov. 9. The victim said he returned to his vehicle to find the passenger window broken and a laptop bag missing. He said his actual computer was under the seat just in case of a theft.
100 block of West Wieuca Road, NW – A larceny from an auto in a parking garage was reported on Nov. 11. The victim said she returned to her vehicle to find the window broken and her purse missing from inside the vehicle. The victim further said she left the purse on the seat covered by her jacket.
3000 block of Piedmont Road, NE – An auto theft from a rental company was reported on Nov. 10. The rental manager said a man entered the location and presented a foreign ID, credit card and insurance documents to rent a car. Upon agreeing and renting the car, the subject failed to return the vehicle as agreed. Upon further investigation, the manager found the documents presented by the subject were fraudulent. To date the man has not made any attempt to return the vehicle. The car was placed on the system as stolen and a warrant applied for.
