From police reports dated through Feb. 24.

 

The following information was provided to the Buckhead Reporter by the Zone 2 precinct of the Atlanta Police Department from its records and is presumed to be accurate.

 

Assault

 

3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – An aggravated assault at a restaurant was reported on Feb. 12. The initial suspect refused to leave the location and when an escort was attempted, the suspect fought with the officer. Another arrestee began to assault the officer in an attempt to prevent the arrest. The officer was struck and kicked in the head several times by the suspects.

 

1600 block of Piedmont Road, NE – An aggravated assault in a parking lot was reported on Feb. 12. A man said he was struck by a vehicle driven by his roommate after an argument over the lease. The victim complained of injuries but refused medical treatment. The suspect fled the scene at the time of the incident.

 

4900 block of Peachtree Park Drive, NE – An aggravated assault at an apartment was reported on Feb. 14.  According to witness statements, a man was seen holding a woman by the hair, pushing and pulling her toward a parked car. He was arrested and charged with simple assault.

 

Deering Road/ Peachtree Street, NW – An aggravated assault was reported in the evening of Feb. 16.  A man said he was stopped at the intersection when an unknown man in a blue, Infiniti 4-door sedan pulled up beside him, waving and pointing a pistol at him while calling out racial slurs. The suspect then drove off and the man got the tag number. Officers conducted a further investigation and were able to get a name for the driver, but did not have a valid address.

 

3700 block of Paces Ferry Road, NW – An aggravated assault was reported in the evening of Feb. 18. A wife and her husband were in a verbal and physical dispute. The woman became combative and jumped on her husband’s back and scratched him in the face.

 

500 block of Wimbledon Road, NE – An aggravated assault was reported on Feb. 19. The victim said the suspect forced his way into his apartment and struck him in the head with a picture frame, causing a superficial wound. The suspect is the ex-boyfriend of the victim.

 

1900 block of Defoor Avenue, NW – An aggravated assault was reported on Feb. 20. A woman and man

were involved in a verbal and physical altercation.  Both parties had visible bruises and scratches and were transported to Grady Memorial Hospital. There was a knife involved in this incident.

 

Robbery

1900 block of Piedmont Circle, NE – A pedestrian robbery was reported on the morning of Feb. 23. Two suspects pointed a handgun at the victim, taking his wallet, cellphone, keys and keycard to a relative’s residence.  One of the suspects has been identified as a cousin of the victim. The other suspect goes by the name of “Redbone.”

 

 

Burglary

 

900 block of Canterbury Road, NE – A residential burglary was reported on Feb. 17.  A woman said her apartment was flooded in January, so she left and returned in February.  It was noted she was delinquent with her furniture rental account and rent. The night before the burglary, she called the rental company and told them that they could pick up the furniture. After the company picked up the furniture, the flat screen television was gone. There were no signs of forced entry.

 

2400 block of Cheshire Bridge Road, NE – A commercial burglary was reported on Feb. 21. A man and a woman were seen crawling under a gate at a storage facility, then cutting the locks to 15 storage spaces. They took a video game system.

 

2400 block of Peachtree Road, NW – A residential burglary was reported on Feb. 22. A woman said she was inside of her apartment when her dog started to bark. She saw a man standing on her patio with a brick in his hand. She confronted him and he jumped over the back wall and fled on foot.

 

2000 block of Defoors Ferry Road, NW – A residential burglary was reported on Feb. 23. The victim’s front door was kicked in and the suspects grabbed the flat screen off the wall and a laptop with a tracking program on it.

 

Larceny

 

3300 block of Piedmont Road, NE – A larceny from a grocery store was reported on Feb. 12. The suspect took eight small bottles of wine while inside the business and opened six of the eight bottles and consumed the wine without paying for it. The suspect was passed out on the floor of the business when he was taken into custody by police.

 

300 block of West Paces Ferry Road, NW – A larceny from a construction site was reported on Feb. 13. The reporting person said when he arrived at the location he discovered that someone had taken a metal mermaid and fish from the middle of a fountain.

 

1100 block of Huff Road, NW – A larceny at an apartment complex was reported during the day on Feb. 13. The victim left a wallet on a bench in the fitness center and someone took it. The wallet contained a Social Security card, driver’s license and three debit cards.

 

2600 block of Piedmont Road, NE – A larceny from a dry cleaner was reported on Feb. 14. A man picked up his clothing and refused to pay for the service. He left on foot, heading toward a nearby apartment complex.

 

3500 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from a department store was reported on Feb. 14.  The reporting person said that while conducting an inventory, a platinum diamond eternity band worth $27,995 was discovered missing. The reporting person believes that a seasonal employee may have taken the item.

 

3500 block of Piedmont Road, NE – A larceny from a business was reported on Feb. 16.             The reporting person said someone stole three checks out of the company checkbook. One of the checks was cashed for $742.83. The business has placed a stop payment on the other two checks.

 

700 block of Hillpine Drive, NE – A larceny from a residence was reported on Feb. 16. The suspect took a brown leather jacket from the home. He was phoned and said he would return the jacket. The jacket was returned and the victim said he did not want to prosecute.

 

Tall Pine Court, NE – A larceny from a residence was reported on Feb. 16. A man said that at some time his pistol was stolen from his home.  He kept his pistol in a drawer in his room.  He was out of town for about five weeks, and there were labor workers as well as the housekeeper that were in and out of the house.

 

2500 block of Chantilly Drive, NE – A larceny from a hotel was reported on Feb. 17.  A man said he reconnected with a long lost friend for sexual favors. They met at a hotel. No sexual encounter occurred. The next morning he allowed the suspect to use his grandmother’s car. A 9mm weapon was in the glove box of the vehicle. His social security number and various other credit cards were also in the vehicle. Over $5,000 has been charged on the cards. The hotel room was in the name of the male suspect.

 

4400 block of Wieuca Road, NE – A larceny from a residence was reported on Feb. 17. The victim left wedding rings inside a closet and they were stolen. The victim said the only people with access to the closet were the cleaning lady and her son.

 

1700 block of Northside Drive, NW – A larceny from a hotel was reported on Feb. 17. A woman allowed two men she just met to stay in her room overnight and when they left the next afternoon, her wallet was open and $862 was missing.

 

1500 block of Piedmont Avenue, NE – A larceny from a store was reported on Feb. 19.  A woman asked to fill out an application at Smoothie King. After she filled it out, she asked if she could get five $1 bills in exchange for a $5 bill from the tip jar, and was told she could. After she left the employer realized the $5 bill was counterfeit.

 

3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from a department store was reported on Feb. 22.  A man was seen concealing several items on his person and attempting to exit the store without paying. He fought with police and did possess tools to cut the alarm devices off of the clothing. He was arrested and charged.

 

1800 block of Cheshire Bridge Road, NE – A larceny was reported on Feb. 22.  The victims’ identification cards, and pants and shirts were stolen from their hotel room by two men who were invited in by the victims.

 

Larceny from Auto

 

2600 block of George Street, NW – A larceny from an auto was reported on Feb. 15. After he repaired the victim’s vehicle, the suspect stole a laptop from the trunk and some perfume from the glove box. The suspect was in possession of the victim’s vehicle for two weeks after it was repaired.

 

2500 block of Rivers Road, NW – A larceny from an auto at a residence was reported on Feb. 16. A man said he parked his vehicle in front of the house and was working in the rear of the house. He heard a noise and went to the front and saw a man taking a blower from his truck that was tied with a chain. The suspect got into a black Dodge pickup.

 

2500 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from an auto was reported on Feb. 16.   A man said his vehicle was parked on the first level of the parking deck, and when he returned to his vehicle he saw the back window had been broken out and a Versace cologne bottle had been taken.

 

100 block of West Wieuca Road, NE – A larceny from an auto was reported on Feb. 16. A woman said she parked her vehicle at Chastain Park and went running. Upon returning to her vehicle, she noticed her purse was missing. The driver’s side door of the vehicle does not lock.

 

Auto Theft

 

400 block of King Road, NW – An auto theft was reported on Feb. 14. The victim said that the vehicle was stolen from the driveway with the keys inside.

 

100 block of Bennett Street, NW – An auto theft was reported on the morning of Feb. 18. A woman said she parked her car at midnight, went to a club, knew she was too drunk to drive and walked home.  She said she returned at 8:30 a.m. to where her vehicle was parked and could not find it. She also said her keys are missing.
