Sandy Springs will test its new tornado warning sirens on Thursday, March 22. The sirens will be turned on for  a minute or two at some point between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., the city said in a statement released March 20.

The test will take place only if the skies are clear, the city said. “If weather conditions indicate severe storms, testing will be postponed,” the statement says.

The city installed eight warning sirens in February.
