The Sandy Springs Police Department has launched the Business Watch program, an effort to better coordinate with more than 6,000 businesses in the city to reduce crime.
Businesses can sign up for the program by visiting http://www.sandyspringspolice.org/Forms/BusinessWatchRegistrationForm
According to a city press release, benefits of signing up include a security evaluation, crime prevention training for employees and managers, signage to deter crime and a newsletter with crime prevention tips.
Businesses will also receive a decal identifying their participation and containing a reference number for emergency contact after hours, the press release says.
“Signing up takes less than 5 minutes, and helps reduce crime while simultaneously increasing our ability to respond to more calls,” crime prevention officer Larry Jacobs said.
