The Sandy Springs Police Department has confirmed that a captain reportedly being investigated by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation no longer works for the city.

In a statement, the city says Capt. Scott Jamison retired in July 17, 2012. Earlier reports indicated he was in charge of the city’s SWAT team, but the police statement says he left that role in December 2011.

This morning Fox 5 Atlanta reported that Capt. Scott Jamison is the target of a GBI investigation along with Canton Police Sgt. Stacy Bailey. The report, citing a police memo, says the two were in a relationship and that Bailey misused money donated to the Canton Police Explorers to purchase a custom golf cart for Jamison’s disabled son. Bailey has been suspended.
