To the editor:

Left unsaid in the debate over where to put a new Brookhaven library is the reality that if it is decided to build the new library at the location of the current library branch, it will be necessary to close the current Brookhaven library for as much as a year and a half.

This will visit a tremendous hardship of users of the current Brookhaven library who do not have cars since they will have to travel to the Chamblee library which is over three miles away.

The reality of this potential hardship would seem to argue strongly that the new library be built in Brookhaven Park which would, still, be within walking distance of MARTA.
