The Atlanta Board of Education voted on Monday, Oct. 1, to hire Howard Taylor as the next North Atlanta High Principal.
According to the Talkupaps.com blog, Taylor comes to Atlanta Public Schools from the Gwinnett County school system. Prior to taking the job as the new North Atlanta principal, he was principal of Lilburn Middle School.
From 1998 to 2000, he was an Asst. Professor in the College of Education at Georgia State University, APS reported.
Thenortherneronline.com, the High School’s student news website, said Taylor will take over for current Principal Mark MyGrant in November.
“We believe we have selected the leaders to lead us forward,” Superintendent Erroll Davis said after introducing the candidates.
District 4 Board of Education Member Nancy Meister said the North Atlanta community will soon have the chance to meet Taylor.
“I had the opportunity to meet him briefly and look forward to the community having the opportunity to meet him,” Meister said. “I am sure that North Atlanta administrative team, students and parents will welcome him and make his transition as smooth as possible.”
