The following information was provided to the Buckhead Reporter by the Zone 2 precinct of the Atlanta Police Department from its records and is presumed to be accurate.
2100 block of Lenox Road, NW – An aggravated assault was reported on Sept. 13. A man said another man with spiked hair and tattoos all over his arm has continued to let his dog defecate in front of his lawn and he had requested the man, on several occasions, stop his dog from doing so. The suspect became aggressive toward him. The suspect left the scene but returned 15 minutes later without the dog and started shooting at the victim. The suspect ran to an adjacent apartment. The victim was not found. The CSI unit came to the location and retrieved two shell casings and took photos.
1400 block of Piedmont Avenue, NE – An aggravated assault at a nightclub was reported on Sept. 13. The suspect threw a glass bottle and hit the victim in the forehead, causing a bump. The suspect was identified by the victim and the bouncer. The suspect was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct under the influence of alcohol.
4300 block of Powers Ferry Road, NE – An aggravated assault at a school was reported on Sept. 14. Employees said a male student told them the suspect threatened to “cut his penis off”’ while swinging a knife back and forth. The victim received a minor abrasion to the elbow when he attempted to push the suspect away. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the metro YDC. The weapon was recovered and photographed.
East Andrews Drive, NE – An aggravated assault at a nightclub was reported on Sept. 16. A woman said she was very intoxicated and lost consciousness in the rear of the bar. She awakened to shouts from people around her. A fight broke out between her and another woman, and she was bitten on the finger and kicked.
Lenox at Ga. 400 northbound ramp, NE – An aggravated assault on the highway was reported on Sept. 16. A man attempted to run a woman off the road numerous times after her vehicle crossed over in front of his as they were getting onto Ga. 400 northbound.
2500 block of Morosgo Place, NE – An aggravated assault was reported on Sept. 16. The witness said the arrestee used a broken bottle to cut the victim on his arm during an argument.
1900 block of Piedmont Circle, NE – An aggravated assault was reported on Sept. 18. One man was arrested for giving false information and the other man was arrested for assaulting another man with his hands and with a walker.
2900 block of Peachtree Road, NW – An aggravated assault was reported on Sept. 22. A man said he was in the drive-thru lane at McDonald’s when he attempted to leave. He was hindered in doing so because the vehicle in front of him was too close. When he blew his horn to tell the other driver to move up, the driver exited the vehicle and began assaulting the victim, punching him about the head and face. There was a witness inside the victim’s car at the time of the assault.
3900 block of Roswell Road, NE – A commercial robbery was reported on Sept. 14. The victim was held at gunpoint and $2,400 was taken from the safe at a thrift store. The victim’s vehicle was also taken by the suspect. The incident was captured on surveillance camera.
2100 block of Main Street, NW – A pedestrian robbery was reported on Sept. 17. A man said while he was sitting in his car the suspect got into his vehicle and forced him to drive to an ATM and withdraw some money. He did not see a gun but believes the suspect had one.
500 block of Northside Circle, NW – A residential burglary was reported on Sept. 10. An unknown suspect stole the victim’s listed property. There was a broken window in the bathroom but the window was very small.
2100 block of Piedmont Road, NE – A commercial burglary was reported on Sept. 10. A man said he fired an employee a few days ago. He said when he arrived at work he saw that computers, cameras, Red Bull and $2,200 in cash were stolen.
3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A burglary from a hotel was reported on Sept. 12. A man said that his laptop, cellphone and wallet were stolen from his hotel room. No signs of forced entry. No suspects, no witnesses. What the victim states contradicts camera footage.
Peachtree Battle Avenue, NW – A residential burglary was reported on Sept. 14. An unknown suspect pried the basement door to the victim’s home, then stole jewelry and a candle holder.
1400 block of Ellsworth Industrial Boulevard, NW – A commercial burglary was reported on Sept. 19. Two men pried open the door to the business using a crowbar. The suspects stole $200 in cash from the drawer. The suspects went straight to the drawer.
2400 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A commercial burglary was reported on Sept. 19. Someone possibly entered through the back door of the business. No signs of forced entry. The safe, containing $3,200, was stolen. Physical marks from the safe could be seen on the floor.
3700 block of Roswell Road, NE – A larceny from a nightclub was reported on Sept. 8. Police said there is an ongoing dispute between a booting company and owners of the nightclub concerning signage telling patrons that their cars will be booted if they park in the lot across the street. Furthermore, the previous night, the extra job unit had to intervene in an argument when an employee from the booting company took a sign belonging to the club. The off-duty officer told the booting company employee he was committing a larceny, and the sign was returned. The next night, the club’s owner said the sign went missing. They suspect the booting company employee due to the ongoing feud.
3400 block of Piedmont Road, NE – A larceny was reported on Sept. 9. An unknown woman in a silver vehicle gave a man a ride. He gave his wallet to her to prove his age. He later found that his debit card was taken and $4,000 was stolen from his bank account.
2300 block of Marietta Boulevard, NW – A larceny from a gas station was reported on Sept. 10. The suspect, a man with dreads and white T-shirt, was seen grabbing two12-packs of Budweiser beer and fleeing in a gold Hyundai.
1200 block of W. Paces Ferry Road, NW – A larceny was reported on Sept. 10. An off-duty officer saw a man take a bicycle and attempt to flee the area on a MARTA bus. When the bus stopped, the man fled, leaving the bike behind. He was later apprehended after a brief foot chase. The bike was returned to its owner.
3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from a department store was reported on Sept. 11. Loss prevention said an unknown female suspect entered the store, concealed a shawl and left without paying. Two days later, the same woman came in and returned the item. She was issued a $443 gift card for the value. Store employees later realized the item she returned was stolen and voided the card. A man then entered the store and attempted to use the gift card, but was denied since the card had been voided during the previous transaction.
2900 block of Peachtree Road, NW – A larceny from a specialty store was reported on Sept. 12. A man was seen on video selecting a pair of sunglasses, then switching them with his old pair, then leaving the store.
4300 block of Powers Ferry Road, NW – A larceny at a school was reported on Sept. 14. The victim said she went to the nurse’s office leaving her items, including an iPod, behind in the classroom. When she returned, the iPod was missing. A classmate said she saw two female students with the iPod. When asked by the principal if they had taken the iPod, they denied it.
3500 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from a department store was reported on Sept. 15. A man took five pairs of Gucci sunglasses ($250 each) and placed them in a bag. He then walked past all points of sale without paying. When confronted by security, he tried to fight. He was detained. Once police arrived he attempted to flee in handcuffs before he again was placed into custody.
1700 block of Howell Mill Road, NW – A larceny from a grocery store was reported on Sept. 17. A man concealed laundry detergent in the front of his pants and attempted to leave the store without paying. He was held by security and arrested by police.
700 block of Cosmopolitan Drive, NE – A larceny from an apartment was reported on Sept. 18. A woman said she was inside her home in the living room area when she saw a shadow outside on the patio. She looked out the window and saw two men taking her dog’s raincoat from her patio area. Police in the area were able to apprehend the men. The victim positively identified the men. The raincoat was returned back to her.
Larceny from Auto
1700 block of Commerce Drive, NW – A larceny from an auto was reported on Sept. 9. Someone broke into the victim’s white Dodge and stole a case of water and four 12-packs of Diet Wild Cherry Pepsi. The incident was caught on video.
2000 block of Brookview Drive, NW – A larceny from an auto at a residence was reported on Sept. 11. A man said he discovered his golf bag, clubs and golf shoes were missing from his vehicle. The vehicle was parked in the driveway of his home and may have been unlocked.
3000 block of Piedmont Road, NE – A larceny from an auto was reported on Sept. 11. Someone entered the victim’s blue 1989 BMW and stole the radio, cup holder and floor mats.
1200 block of W. Paces Ferry Road, NW – A larceny was reported on Sept. 12. A man reached into a woman’s vehicle while she was napping in her car in the parking lot, and stole her purse.
2300 block of Piedmont Road, NE – A larceny from an auto was reported on Sept. 15. The vehicle was parked outside an auto parts store and items were taken, including subwoofers valued at $899, a $400 car DVD player, $500 air conditioner compressor, a $300 injector, $200 headlights, and a $200 Sony camera. There was no sign of forced entry.
4200 block of Alexander Circle, NE – An auto theft was reported on Sept. 9. The vehicle was stolen from a parking deck. There was broken glass on the ground. A spare key was in the car.
400 block of Northside Circle, NW – An auto theft was reported on Sept. 10. Someone stole a woman’s 1995 Jeep Cherokee from a parking lot.
2100 block of Faulkner Road, NE – A vehicle theft was reported on Sept. 12. A witness on the scene said she saw a man attempt to open two vehicles’ doors. The same suspect then approached a scooter and attempted to push the scooter out of the parking lot. The witness was able to identify the man. He was arrested and transported to jail. The scooter’s owner was located and said man did not have permission to push his scooter. The scooter was returned back to the owner.
26th Street, NW – An auto theft was reported on the evening of Sept. 18. A man said after an Atlanta Falcons game, his vehicle was missing. No cameras were at the location, no glass where the vehicle was left. The victim was in possession of the keys.
500 block of Northside Drive, NW – A vehicle theft was reported on Sept. 20. Someone stole the victim’s golf cart from in front of the leasing office.
