Georgia voters have said “yes” an amendment that would allow the state to approve charter schools, according to unofficial election results.

Also a Chamblee annexation proposal appears headed toward defeat.

Charter Schools amendment — 158 of 159 counties reporting

Amendment One: Provides for improving student achievement and parental involvement through more public charter school options.

Yes        58.10%            2,152,091

No          41.90%            1,526,959

 

Chamblee annexation — 4 of 4 precincts reporting

Provides for annexation of roughly 3 square miles into the city of Chamblee.
