DECATUR, GA (CBS ATLANTA, Reporter Newspapers broadcast partner) -Lawyers are making quick work of paring down the nearly 300 potential jurors in the Andrea Sneiderman perjury trial.

Jury selection continues Tuesday at the DeKalb County courthouse. Nearly 300 potential jurors were summoned for duty.

By the end of the day Monday, 22 jurors had passed the first round of questioning, saying that they believe they can be fair and impartial. Lawyers hope to have a pool of 40 by Thursday. That’s when a second round of questioning could begin.

At the rate lawyers are going, opening statements could begin by Monday, court officials said.
