Flyer-REVISED5

Music, beer and food trucks are headed to Brookhaven Park Oct. 5 as part the city’s first music festival, Roots n’ Brews.

Organized by the Brookhaven Chamber of Commerce, the event will raise money for the city’s parks, said Ashley Logsdon, a chamber volunteer and the manager of the event.

“We hope the caliber of musicians we’ve chosen will really put us on the map as a place to hear great live music,” Logsdon said.

Roots and Brews will be held from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 5 in Brookhaven Park.  The festival features six live bands: The Regulars, The Roosevelts, Georgia Crackers, Freddy’s Finest, Jennifer Daniels, and headliner Caroline Aiken.

Tickets are $40 in advance and $50 the day of the show.  Tickets include a commemorative cup and two beers.

“Root music is the root of all American music and the parks are the roots of our community. So that’s kind of the theme,” Logsdon said.
