From police reports dated Oct. 6 through Oct. 19.
The following information was provided to the Buckhead Reporter by the Zone 2 precinct of the Atlanta Police Department from its records and is presumed to be accurate.
3200 block of Roswell Road, NE – A rape was reported on Oct. 6. Grady Hospital advised dispatch that a female patient reported she was sexually assaulted at a nightclub sometime between 1:30 a.m. and 5:30 a.m.
2000 block of Cheshire Bridge Road, NE – An aggravated assault was reported on Oct. 6. The suspect grabbed the victim’s posterior while he was playing pool. When the man pushed the suspect away, the suspect punched the victim in the face and hit him on the head with a pool stick, causing a large cut. The victim refused to be transported, and was treated at the scene. The suspect was not on the scene.
3700 block of Roswell Road, NE – An aggravated assault was reported on Oct. 13. The nightclub manager, who was running the front line outside, saw an unknown man trying to sneak inside, behind other patrons at the front of the line. When the manager grabbed the suspect, he violently engaged the manager. The manager wrestled the man to the ground, and the man struck the manager on the back of the head with his cellphone.
2300 block of Marietta Boulevard, NW – An aggravated assault was reported on Oct. 15. A woman said two men approached her while she was pumping gas, asking for money. She refused to give them any money. The perps proceeded to hit her.
2300 block of Cheshire Bridge Road, NE – An aggravated assault was reported on Oct. 17. A man who was inside the gas station and did not have enough money for his purchase was told by the cashier he could leave with his purchase. However, the man kept asking how much it cost. An off-duty employee told the man he was OK and could leave. The man turned around, told the off-duty employee to “stay the ^%$& out of this,” swung his fist and missed, then struck her in the face with his closed umbrella. He was stopped and detained in the 1000 block of Lindbergh Drive, and was identified by the victim.
2100 block of Cheshire Bridge Road, NW – An aggravated assault was reported on Oct. 17. A woman passing out fliers at an apartment complex heard a woman talking behind her. As she turned around, the suspect pushed her down and started spraying Raid bug spray in her face while she was on the ground. The suspect hit the victim in the head with the spray can and then was removed from on top of her by a witness.
1100 block of Woodland Avenue, NE – An aggravated assault was reported on Oct. 18. A man said an unknown man wearing a Halloween mask attempted to take his laptop from him. He said that when he didn’t give up the laptop, the man shot him in his leg once. The suspects may be two men in a small, silver 4-door vehicle. A witness saw these two men sitting in this vehicle in front of the apartment where the victim was sitting on his stairs, listening to music on his laptop. The victim was taken to Grady Hospital for treatment.
2200 block of Marietta Road, NW – A pedestrian robbery was repotted on Oct. 7. Two men in a dark blue minivan pulled over in front of a man as he was walking alongside Marietta Boulevard. One got out of the van and started beating the victim with a stick, and stole money from his pocket.
2800 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A pedestrian robbery was reported on Oct. 10. A man parked along Peachtree Road and was taking pictures when he was approached from behind by two men. One of the men asked the victim if he was a photographer and the other reached into his sweatpants, pulled out a pistol and demanded the victim’s keys. The victim produced his own gun and shot several rounds at the suspect, who then retreated. As both suspects retreated, both men shot rounds at the victim before the victim got in his car and flagged down a GSP trooper. The suspects fled in a dark colored sedan, possibly a two-toned Toyota Camry with body damage. Three shell casings and two projectiles were recovered at the scene.
3600 block of Paces Valley Road. NW – A residential burglary was reported on Oct. 6. An unknown suspect entered the location through the doggy door and used a pillowcase to remove silver and other items.
1900 block of Spade Avenue, NW – A residential burglary was reported on Oct. 11. A man driving a dark-colored BMW was seen kicking the front door of the home before going to the rear of the house and using a rock to break the glass on the door to enter. He stole jewelry and other items.
2000 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A residential burglary was reported on Oct. 13. A man said someone made entry into his residence and stole his wallet. He said he most likely left his door unlocked. Inside his wallet was his driver’s license, credit cards and social security card. He said that his credit card was used at a gas station across the street and at a CVS.
2000 block of Cheshire Bridge Road, NE – A commercial burglary was reported on Oct. 15. An unknown suspect backed a blue or purple Mazda truck into the window of the vacuum store, entered, and stole a vacuum cleaner. Other vacuum cleaners were damaged by the truck. Power had been turned off to the business and the alarm was malfunctioning. No suspects at this time.
2400 block of Morosgo Way, NE – A larceny was reported on Oct. 6. A man said he left his jack stand and spare tire in a parking space prior to leaving for church. When he returned the items were missing. His explanation for these actions was “so he could have a place to park upon returning.”
2600 block of Peachtree Road, NW – A larceny was reported on Oct. 6. A woman’s purse was taken from a bench inside the church when she placed it down to take a picture. There are cameras inside the location, but are unable to review the footage. An iPhone and debit card was inside the purse. The phone was last tracked to the 2900 block of Pharr Road.
1400 block of Howell Mill Road, NW – A larceny was reported on Oct. 8. The suspect cut extension cords from the water fountain and stole them from the location. There are no known suspects at this time.
1100 block of Liberty Parkway, NW – A larceny was reported on Oct. 8. The suspects removed the washer and dryer from the home they were renting.
1st block of Peachtree Valley Road, NE – A larceny at an apartment complex was reported on Oct. 8. A woman said her boyfriend returned to the residence and removed a projector, Xbox and several movies without authorization.
3100 block of E. Shadowlawn Avenue, NE – A larceny was reported on Oct. 11. A man entered the business as a patient, and stole blank prescription sheets, then forged a prescription at the pharmacy. There were no arrests made at the time.
1800 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny was reported on Oct. 12. A woman said she set her cellphone on the counter at the gas station and walked away from it. She said she was positive that three individuals standing behind her took the phone. Investigators met with her, who said she followed the individuals who took her phone to their residence, but the phone was not retrieved.
1800 block of Howell Mill Road, NW – A larceny was reported on Oct. 13. The arrestee concealed items in a bag and passed all point of sale without paying. The items stolen were cheese, bread, Lay’s potato chips, bottled water and bathroom tissue.
1700 block of Northside Drive, NW – A larceny was reported on Oct. 15. A man said another man, who he had allowed into his room, stole his pants that had his cellphone, wallet, ID and credit cards inside the pockets. The man took the pants and items while the victim was using the restroom. He did not know the man’s name or where he lived.
2000 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from an apartment was reported on Oct. 17. A man said he had a female friend staying with him for five weeks. She later told him she left his apartment key with security. When he returned home he noticed that someone had stolen his laptop, 15 watches and some golf shoes. There were no witnesses.
1900 block of Moores Mill Road, NW – A larceny was reported on Oct. 17. A 30-yard, 22-foot dumpster filled with construction waste and concrete was taken from the construction site.
Larceny from Auto
3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from an auto was reported on Oct. 6. A man said entry was made inside his vehicle while it was parked in the parking garage. He said a Samsung Galaxy 7 tablet (no tracking, no serial number), five handgun magazines, eight boxes of ammunition, two bank bags, one containing $1,115 in cash the other $450 in checks made out to his business, were taken. There is no surveillance system in the parking garage. Not known if the tablet was equipped with a tracking device.
3100 block of Roswell Road, NW – A larceny from an auto was reported on Oct. 6. A man said he parked his car and when he returned, drove to Woodstock where he noticed the lock was damaged on his door. His sunglasses and a CD case were missing. He then was instructed to call Atlanta Police to report the crime.
3500 block of Peachtree Road, NW – A larceny from an auto was reported on Oct. 8. A man said he parked his car to go in and eat dinner, and when he returned he went to the airport, where he noticed his briefcase was missing. He then went back to the location at the mall and called 911.
3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from an auto was reported on Oct. 10. An unknown suspect smashed the window on the victim’s vehicle and stole two suitcases. The items were found by security under a nearby stairway.
3800 block of Roswell Road, NE – A larceny from an auto was reported on Oct. 18. A man said someone rolled down the window on his 2008 Volkswagen Jetta, entered, and stole an iPhone 5 that was in a gym bag on the rear seat. The phone was brand new and still in the box. No suspects. There might be video.
3400 block of Lenox Road, NE – A larceny from an auto was reported on Oct. 19. Suspect(s) broke out the rear passenger side window and stole a referee style hat, yellow penalty flag and bean bag.
2200 block of James Jackson Parkway, NW – An auto theft was reported on Oct. 16. A man was arrested for attempting to steal a 2003 Ford pickup truck from Enterprise Rental. An officer saw the arrestee inside the truck. There was damage to the truck. This was an attempt to steal the truck.
400 block of Peachtree Hills Avenue, NE – An auto theft was reported on Oct. 17. A man was seen sitting in a woman’s vehicle. When the victim ran out to her vehicle yelling “What the hell are you doing in my car?” the suspect got out of the vehicle and into another that was waiting nearby. The suspect sped away from the area.
200 block of 26th Street, NE – An auto theft was reported on Oct. 18. A motorcycle was taken from the 2nd floor of the parking deck of the apartment complex. A witness reported seeing a white van enter the parking deck, back up to a group of motorcycles, and load them into the rear of the van. The witnesses attempted to stop the men before exiting the structure, but were unsuccessful.
