Police say they’ve arrested a man suspected of robbing the Wells Fargo at 1034 NE Hammond Dr.
According to the Sandy Springs Police Facebook page, Michael Joseph Weaver and a female accomplice are accused of entering the Wells Fargo branch on the evening of Nov. 27 and stealing an undisclosed amount of money. Police said they arrested Weaver shortly after the robbery occurred.
“The two fled the bank but were spotted minutes later at the Hilton Suites on Peachtree Dunwoody Road,” Police said. “Weaver fled through a back door to the hotel but was chased down by an officer and surrendered without incident.”
Police said the female accomplice managed to flee. The police said they are following up on “promising leads” to find her.
