If you left your car abandoned on the side of the road during Tuesday snowstorm, state agencies will help stranded drivers return to their vehicles today, according to a report from our media affiliate CBS Atlanta.
If your car is still on a road in Atlanta, there will be two staging areas for transport starting at 10 a.m. Show up to these staging areas and the Georgia State Patrol, National Guard and Department of Transportation will take you to your car.
Drivers who left their cars on I-20 and I-285 west should report to the Westlake MARTA station parking area at 80 Anderson Ave. SW. Drivers who left their cars on I-75, the top end of I-285 and the Downtown Connector (I-75/I-85) should report to the Mount Paran Church parking area at 2055 Mount Paran Rd.
Officials will provide fuel for drivers who ran out of gas and also help with dead batteries.
If your car had to be towed, Georgia State Patrol will have a database to help drivers find cars that have been towed and provide transportation to the facility. Make sure and bring your car keys and driver’s license to check in.
Also, DeKalb County is waiving towing fees for those who had to abandon their cars. Stranded drivers will have until midnight Friday to pick up their vehicles from towing lots. The following lots will waive fees: Cymil, Brown and Brown, South DeKalb, Statewide and S&W.
