Sandy Springs Police late on Friday morning arrested a man accused of threatening Congregation Beth Tefillah.
Police had been searching for Charles Cortell who allegedly harrassed the synagogue’s members with phone calls, email and text messages. Though Cortell is Jewish, he expressed hatred toward the Jewish population and paranoia and political and governmental facets, according to a press release from the police department.
Cortell was found in the Windsor Parkway area in southern Sandy Springs after police received a tip. Cortell was taken into custody without incident and has been placed in the Alpharetta jail. He is charged with three counts of disorderly conduct.
