Weather permitting, motorists should be aware of lane closures taking place this weekend on I-285’s top end and Ga. 400, says the Georgia Department of Transportation.

Unless rain halts or postpones scheduled roadwork, motorists should consider alternate routes in these construction zones:

  • Work on I-285 top end sign structures is scheduled to continue with continuous (9 p.m., Friday, until 5 a.m., Monday) inside (left) lane closures in both directions between Powers Ferry Road and I-75. Also on I-285 on the southside, airport crews will be performing maintenance activities on lights in the 5th runway tunnel. Sporadic multiple lane closures will be in place in both directions throughout the weekend.
  • On Ga. 400 northbound between Sidney Marcus Boulevard and Lenox Road, one outside (right) lane will be closed from 7 a.m. to  7 p.m., Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
  • Downtown, overnight restriping of several westbound (WB) I-20 exit ramps will occur during overnight hours. The affected ramps, in order, will be at Flat Shoals Road, Glenwood Avenue, Capitol Avenue and Windsor Street. The work will take place nightly from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. All ramps will remain open to traffic throughout the process, but delays are likely and drivers should be extremely cautious. Work will be timed so as not to interfere with Atlanta Braves’ game traffic..
