Organizers of the popular “Atlanta Soccerfest” are bringing a holiday version to Brookhaven on Saturday, Dec. 20, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 21, from 1 to 6 p.m. at Briarwood Park Recreation Center, 2235 Briarwood Way NE.

The event brought thousands to the city in June 2014 with a gathering at Brookhaven Park, with some 20,000 people showing up to watch the World Cup and participate in activities.

“Soccerfest has been a tremendous boon to the city and its residents,” Councilman John Park said. “Holiday Soccerfest will continue bringing people to Brookhaven to shop, eat and drink. We hope everyone has a ‘merry-ol-time’ at Soccerfest this holiday season.”

The event is free and open to the public and will include indoor soccer games in the newly refurbished recreation center. Food and adult beverages will be served along with a bouncy house for kids. Arts and craft vendors will also be on-hand for last-minute holiday shopping.
