DeKalb County will cut its garbage pickups to one day a week in order to save money.
DeKalb’s commissioners approved the change March 10, the county announced. The change had been recommended by DeKalb interim CEO Lee May to reduce garbage collection costs in order to avoid an increase in the amount customers are charge for sanitation service, county officials have said.
“This is an historic vote, and I am pleased that we can move forward to ensure efficiency of our operations, and confirm our need to remain fiscally responsible in the face of rising operating costs,” May said in a county press release.
Under the new collection schedule, residential garbage, lawn trimmings and recycling will be collected from homes one day each week. The county sanitation service will provide residential customers a new, green, 65-gallon container to use to hold their refuse.

Also could you provide a contact number and person name for road repair for the potholes on Ward Lake and Boulder Crest Roads. This is the third largest county and we have the worst roads.
