Holy Spirit Preparatory School has named Jocelyn Sotomayor as the new principal of its Upper School.

Sotomayor succeeds current Upper School Principal Tommy Curtin, who is moving to a position as the  assistant head of school

Sotomayor will begin her position on July 1. She joins Holy Spirit Prep from Pinecrest Academy, an independent Catholic School in Cumming, Ga. where she served for eight years, Holy Spirit said in a press release. She had worked as assistant principal, counselor and dean of students, the school said.  Sotomayor also helped establish and shape  Pinecrest’s guidance and college counseling programs, Holy Spirit said.

“I truly believe that God has a perfect plan for each of us,” Sotomayor said in the press release. “In his perfect plan for me and my family, Holy Spirit Prep has opened its doors to welcome us as part of the family. I am honored and feel great excitement to start this new chapter in our lives. I look forward to meeting HSP’s faculty and staff, families, and especially my new students. I cannot wait to begin the work of supporting and enhancing the mission of Holy Spirit Prep and its students and faculty.”
