Incumbent Rebecca Chase Williams will face at least two challengers who filed today for the Brookhaven mayoral election.

Joining Williams in the race today were John Ernst Jr., the former chairman of the DeKalb County Board of Ethics, and Dale Boone, a professional competitive eater who frequently attends City Council meetings.

In the City Council election, incumbents Linley Jones (District 1) and Bates Mattison (District 3) qualified today.

The Districts 2 and 4 council seats are not on the ballot this year.

The qualifying period runs through Sept. 2, so more candidates may emerge. The municipal election will be held Nov. 3.
