The Force was strong with PATH400 on the weekend of Dec. 3, as a group of artists created “Star Wars”-themed chalk art along the multi-use path in Buckhead near Wieuca Road.

Chalk art drawn on special panels on the path’s sound wall is a new tradition launched by Livable Buckhead, the nonprofit leading the effort to build out the path system. The theme this time was a nod to the upcoming “Star Wars” movie “Rogue One,” but was not part of the movie’s official marketing program, according to Livable Buckhead spokesperson Tracey Paden.

The artworks were created by Rachel Tipton Boyd, Katie Bush, Zach Herndon, Meg Mitchell, Jessie Queen and James Wheeler, who are all members of the Georgia Chalk Artists Guild. Their subjects included the villainous Darth Vader, the large-eared mentor Yoda and the heroic Luke Skywalker.
