The Fulton County School System has expanded its crisis text line program to Riverwood International Charter School in Sandy Springs.

The program, “Text 4 Help,” allows students to anonymously provide tips about safety concerns or get mental health help from a licensed clinician 24 hours a day, seven days a week, a press release said.

“Many texting programs are designed for students to report safety concerns, but this initiative links them with a licensed mental health expert who can help them work through all types of issues — academics, relationships, substance abuse and more,” Fulton County Commissioner Bob Ellis said in the press release.

The district hopes to eventually expand the program to all 17 high schools in the district, as well as introduce the initiative to students in middle school, the release said.
