Dunwoody High School is set to get new turf for its football field and a new track after the DeKalb County Board of Education approved a construction contract during its Sept. 14 meeting.

Tucker High School will also get new turf for its football field and a new track under the same contract, which was awarded to Hellas Construction Inc. for $2.09 million for both schools. The company will design and install the new turfs and tracks.

The project is funded through an education special-purpose local-option sales tax passed by voters in May 2016, according to a summary of the contract.

The DeKalb County School District received six proposals for the installation.

Five other high schools in the district will also get new field turf and new tracks that will be installed by Hellas Construction, according to two other contracts that were approved by the board on Sept. 14.
