Dunwoody mayor-elect to host Town Hall Jan. 21

Dunwoody’s mayor-elect invites the community to the city’s first Town Hall of 2016 on Jan. 21. Mayor-elect Denis Shortal, who will be sworn in during the Jan. 4 City Council meeting, wants to hear residents’ feedback on potential issues and topics, according to a press release sent by the city. The Town Hall is set from 6 to 8 p.m. Jan. 21 at All Saints Catholic Church, which is located at 2443 Mount Vernon Road in Dunwoody. MARTA CEO talks about vision for the future of bus, train service

  Keith Parker accepted the position of general manager and CEO for MARTA in December 2012, when reports said the transit authority would be “fiscally bankrupt” by 2017, Parker said during a Dec. 15 Dunwoody-Perimeter Chamber luncheon. Dunwoody Homeowners Association to Adopt-A-Spot on Winters Chapel Road

  The Dunwoody Homeowners Association plans to start regular cleanups of the intersection of Winters Chapel and Peeler roads, DHA President Robert Wittenstein said in an email Dec. 17. “A core part of DHA’s mission is to enhance the community we live in,” Wittenstein said. “We’ve selected this spot because we think it will have a positive impact on the community.
