Photos: Santa, snow and songs illuminate Light Up Brookhaven

The annual Light Up Brookhaven event on Dec. 4 attracted many local residents to Blackburn Park to herald the holiday season. This year’s celebration included Santa arriving in a Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta helicopter, plenty of singing, and even some human-made snow floating over attendees as well as a small snow mountain for children to ride down on an innertube. Photos: Brookhaven Arts Festival celebrates another successful year

The annual Brookhaven Arts Festival returned Oct. 19 and 20 with hundreds of people attending. Heavy rains from Tropical Storm Nestor kept large crowds away on Oct. 19, but the skies cleared on Oct. 20 to bring in crowds to look over the juried show of works by more than 140 artists from across the country. Photos: Dunwoody’s Lemonade Days celebrates 20 years of fun, community

The 20th anniversary of Dunwoody’s Lemonade Days is in the history books. The community festival was held April 24-28 at Brook Run Park and attracted thousands of people for the games, the rides, the food, the entertainment and, of course, community. The annual event is the largest fundraiser for the Dunwoody Preservation Trust, a nonprofit organization that works to preserve the city’s historic sites and buildings. Money raised from this year’s festival is going toward the ongoing rehabilitation and maintenance of the 1870 Donaldson-Bannister Farm at 4831 Chamblee-Dunwoody Road, a restoration partnership of the city of Dunwoody, Dunwoody Preservation...

It’s a family reunion. Hundreds of people born and raised in Lynwood Park in Brookhaven and attended Lynwood’s former elementary and high school return to their roots each year to eat, pray, sing, hug, laugh and be with each other.
